Job Title:           Project Assistant - Water Trucking
Employer: Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)
Location:  Uganda

Duties:
Work in close guidance with the Project Officer – Engineering, ensure the monitoring of the water trucking operation, this includes water delivery to each sites from its production source.
Ensure all water trucking drivers follow the agreed root to deliver water in good time, report immediately to the Project Officer - Engineering on any irregularity in this regard.
Ensure all documentations is counter signed by the designated and responsible persons, this include refugee’s representatives.
Ensure quality of water delivered to the beneficiaries.
Conduct regular physical and FRS test and report to the Project Officer - Engineering.
Ensure all monitoring formats completed and signed off by counter
Supervise masons, contractors and unskilled labourers during repairs and construction of WASH related facilities (water tap-stands, valve chambers, operator sheds, pipe installations & repairs and other water works).
Tasked with tracking construction materials supplied and utilized during construction

Education:
The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Project Assistant- Water Trucking job placement should hold a Degree or Diploma in Water Engineering.

Experience
At least three to five years of proven experience in either relief or development Organizations including managing a large scale Community based water project with evidence of successful implementation of similar projects
Good experience in supervising, training, and coaching staff.
Broad knowledge and understanding of SPHERE and other international standards.
Computer literacy i.e. proficiency in MS Office software.
Personal Competencies:  Staff Development, Team player, Communication, Learning innovation, a willingness and stamina to work for long and odd hours and ability to work with minimal or no supervision are important assets to this job.
