Job Title:             Shoot Edit
Employer: British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Duties:
Providing creative ideas on how to film and illustrate news stories and features.
Tasked with filming and sending video to base on breaking news stories
Shooting and editing complete news and feature packages
Recording presenter links and pieces to camera in creative ways and to edit full programmes.
Working in liaison with reporters to develop scripts and occasionally writing material. Field-producing news coverage, when needed.
Working abroad and in hostile environments.

Experience:
The ideal candidate for the BBC Shoot Edit job placement should have prior experience in a News broadcasting environment, practicing a range of location craft skills (e.g. camerawork / lighting / editing / location facilities).
The incumbent should have broad interest in and proven commitment to News.
Proven knowledge of issues and stories relevant to African audiences
Previous experience of filming, editing and packaging content for TV and radio
Possess a full range of location craft and technical skills
Demonstrated ability to operate current broadcast technical equipment on location and at base, demonstrating a well-developed sense of visual awareness and a willingness to learn how to use new technology and kit.
Previous exposure and experience of operating in a specialist area. Business, social or foreign affairs, the arts or science are desirable.

Excellent digital skills with track record of researching and discovering stories and after appropriate training use PNG, Quickfire and other newsgathering systems.

Job Title:             Technical Lead​ – ​Africa Region
Employer: Duma Works (Medic Mobile)

Duties:  
Manage Project Technical Configuration: Work independently and partner with project managers to write technical scope of work, support service design, configure and customize communication technologies and data visualization dashboards to meet Partners’ health programme requirements, create user manuals, deploy and train on technologies managing project timelines and monitor usage of the technologies.
Spearhead Analytics Platform Management for Africa: Maintain a growing library of dashboards and interactive data visualizations within the Medic Mobile Analytics platform. Train team members and partners to use Medic Mobile Analytics, and communicate best practices. Work with designers and project managers to ensure that dashboard designs are feasible and building upon past work. Be available to other teammates who may be building dashboards, to maintain best practices and quality. Manage project timelines, monitor usage of the platform, and track user licenses for invoicing purposes.


Education:
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or Mathematics

Experience
At least five years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least three years’  experience using command-line tools on Linux (preferred) or another UNIX-like operating system. Be comfortable and proficient in HTML, Javascript, Node.js, and JSON.
Previous exposure and experience with relational databases, Postgres and MySQL
Previous experience in Scripting languages Appscript/Shell/Awk
Prior exposure and experience with data analysis and data visualization languages R/Matlab/Python
Expertise in research to practice – identifying best practices and adapting them to program realities.

Job Title:       Administrative Assistant
Employer: Uganda Episcopal Conference

Duties:
Provide administrative oversight on day to day administration tasks of the project office such as stores transactions, IT and Communications systems.
In charge of stock control and reconciliation to ensure orderly utilization, accountability and periodically provides report on stock levels and needs.
Work in liaison with the Accounts Assistant oversees the arrangement of staff and visitors’ travel within and outside the region.
Ensure efficient fleet management and safety, systematically responsibilities.
Verify procurement activities in accordance with organization procurement policies and procedures, and donor requirements
Exercise control over the respective project office’s assets, report any enhancement/improvement, transfer, loss/theft to the Finance and Administration Section.
Take stock of all assets in the office and report and follow up any discrepancies, maintain and update the assets’ register.

Education:
The applicant for the Administrative Assistant job placement must hold Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Bachelors in Humanities with a diploma in Secretarial work;
Professional qualification in accountancy, administrative secretarial qualification is an added advantage.

Experience
A minimum of three years of related experience in a busy setting and experience in Health related organization or NGO operations, regulations and compliance issues.
