About US:
The Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) is the armed forces of Republic of Uganda. The Uganda People’s Defence Forces will conduct a general recruitment from 16 -29 Oct 2017 for regular soldiers and professionals into the forces.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  All eligible candidates must meet the following requirements:
·         Education Qualifications: To be recruited as a regular soldier, one must possess a minimum formal education of S.4 (UCE) or its equivalent. For professionals, one must have completed S.6 (UACE) or its equivalent with bias in science subjects. Original certificates of 2014, 2015 and 2016 with a student's ID are a must. All professionals will be recruited at Kololo Air Strip as per programme.
·         Citizenship: MUST be citizens of Uganda and must present the original National Identity
·         Card.
·         Medical: MUST be healthy and medically fit ready to undergo medical and physical body check and a road run to test endurance and body fitness. An original certificate of medical examination; duly signed at minimal, by a Clinical officer from a Health Centre III is a must.
·         Marital Status:  MUST be single with no children.
·         Age: Must be adult males and females between the age of (18-25) years. Professionals must not be above 30 years.

NB: Any presentation of forged or other person's documents is criminal and culprits will be liable to prosecution. Medical, mental and physical fitness will be checked at the recruitment as well as at the training centre. An aptitude test to re-confirm level of education will be undertaken before training. Failure will lead to immediate dismissal.

Job Title:   Warden Environmental Impact Assessment
Employer: Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA)
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Duties:
Study and review Environmental & Social Impact Statements and raise issues of concerns that the statements do not adequately address and propose additional mitigation as deemed necessary.
Tasked with monitoring the implementation of environmental Management Plans arising from approved EIAs
Carry out study and evaluate Environmental Monitoring and Audit Reports for projects that have impact on wildlife conservation.
Regularly monitor and evaluate on a routine basis the compliance of the project developers in line with NEMA approval conditions and other plans and guidelines.
Identify and investigate any other unanticipated concerns or negative impacts that might emerge as a result of developments within and outside the Protected Areas.
Actively contribute to the development of regulations to guide developments within and outside the Protected Areas.
Prepare and submit periodic reports in line with UWA reporting guidelines.

Education:
The ideal candidate for the Warden Environmental Impact Assessment job opportunity must hold an Honors Bachelors Degree in either Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Conservation Biology, Wildlife Management or a related field.
Possession of post graduate qualification in Environmental Impact Assessment is an added advantage.

Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant working experience from a reputable and relevant Organization.
Broad knowledge and understanding of Protected Area systems, environmental policies, Laws and Regulations and challenges related to new developments such as petroleum, hydropower, mining and concessions in sensitive ecosystems is also an added advantage.

Job Title:     Climate Change/Disaster Risk Response Knowledge & Learning Specialist

Job Title:    Principal Metrologist - Electromagnetic Metrology Laboratories

Duties
Keenly monitor continuously application of policies, procedures and guidelines regarding the procurement and maintenance of calibration and measurement standards and equipment as to identify and provide recommendations for improvement to the Departmental Manager;
The jobholder will coordinate inter-laboratory activities and services that involves, measurement inter-comparisons, twinning and attachment training of staff for the Laboratories in the Division;
Carry out calibration of working standards to maintain their traceability and integrity and supervise installation and commissioning of new Standards and equipment;
Co-ordinate activities and supervise lower level staff by continuously assisting, guiding and directing them while regularly reviewing their performance during performance review meetings, biennial and annual performance appraisal in the Division;
Develop, implement and review calibration procedures, methods and programmes for client’s (internal & external) equipment and processing of calibration certificates;
Document, implement and maintain Quality Management System based on ISO/IEC 17025 and to Identify, prepare and maintain accreditation for selected laboratories for the laboratories in the Division;

Education:
The ideal candidate for the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) Principal Metrologist - Electromagnetic Metrology Laboratories career placement should hold a Masters’ degree in physics or any other Science or Engineering related field from a recognized University/Institute
Also, the incumbent must hold an honours degree in physics, engineering (electrical, electronics, mechanical) and any other related field.

Experience:
