Job details:
Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) is a Public Limited Liability Company incorporated in March 2001 under the Companies Act (Cap 110), the Laws of Uganda and in conformity with the Electricity Act, i999 and started operation on is’ April 2001. UEGCL is wholly owned by the Government of the Republic of Uganda, with a head office located in Kampala. The mandate of UEGCL is to establish, acquire. maintain and operate electricity generation facilities and to promote Research and Development in the Electricity generation sector while running the company on sound business principals. The Vision of the Company is to “Be the Leading power producer in the Great Lakes Region", while the Mission is to “Sustainably generate Reliable, Quality and Affordable Electricity for Socio- Economic Development".
UEGCL seeks to fill the following vacant position:
2 Public Relations Officers
The maximum age limit is 40 years.

Job Title:   Cameramen (2 Job Opportunities)
Employer: NTV Uganda
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Duties:  
Assemble, prepare and set up equipment for filming, which can include tripods, monitors, lighting, cables and headphones
Provide advice on how best to shoot a scene, explaining the visual impact created by the angle of particular shots
Be able to practice required positions for pre-arranged shots
Take and understand instructions from the Location Director or Producer
Keeping up to date with filming methods, techniques and equipment

Education:
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Film/Television, Broadcast Journalism or related field
Qualifications in Technical TV Production such as Videography,  Audio & Digital Video Editing (are an added advantage)

Experience
A minimum of three years of related working experience in film production
Familiarity with using the following Hi-tech camera recorders; Sony HXR-NX5M Card, JVC HD Memory Card, JVC Studio cameras
Have an established evolving list of integrated production sources and vendors
Ability to be creative and innovative
Deep familiarity with all aspects of TV production, including the technical process of film production and post, and broadcast standards.

Job Title: Communications Officer
Employer: War Child Canada
Location: Kampala, Uganda


War Child Canada is recruiting Communications Officer

Duties:
Work in liaison with the Country Director, Head of Programs and Communication Manager at WCC Headquarters in the development and implementation of country level communications strategy and protocols.
Steer the implementation of War Child Canada’s Uganda’s communication work and ensure that it is fully understood by the country team.
Ensure that all trainings, workshops and public education activities are adapted in accordance to the Uganda context, and all WCC communication and brand guidelines are followed at each level.
Build and maintain good contacts and relationships with key electronic and print media outlets (radio, TV, press) and communicate WCC work, success stories and events, and raise the profile of the organization.
Support the Country Director in all activities related to media engagement including interviews.
Work in close consultation with the Country Director, be responsible to organize and accompany all media visits to WCC project locations, including photography and filming of projects.
Ensure that War Child Canada’s branding guidelines are followed when it comes to communication with media and use of media.

Education:
The ideal candidate for the War Child Canada Communications Officer job placement should hold a University degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies or related field.
At least three years of progressively responsible and relevant experience working in the field of communication or public relations.
Significant exposure and experience of working in various media formats, including photo, audio, video, print and web.
Proven experience in managing digital communication and social media.
