Job Title:       Grants Manager
Employer: WEI/Bantwana
Location: Jinja, Uganda

Duties:
Provide leadership and oversee execution of a complex grants management portfolio
Perform functions of financial administration and reporting to include, but not limited to: preparation and timely submission of sub-grantee's reports, development, and adjustment of associated budgets, coordination of budgeted funds.
Provide oversight and lead capacity building approach of partner staff to meet compliance standards and other contractual obligations
Mentor and supervise Grants Officers and Administrative staff supporting grants management
Review partner cash requests and ensure the funds are disbursed on time
Render support in the budget development process and perform budget analysis duties as assigned by the Chief of Finance and Operations or his/her designee.
Provided input into periodic work plans and carry out progress review of all key outputs and financials (bum rates); monitor and report on partner performance on meeting obligations of partner agreement including targets and reporting deadlines.
Monitor Grants Officer’s field visit financial review reports and make recommendation for actionable items.

Experience:
The applicant for the USAID Project  Grants Manager job opportunity should have at least seven years’ experience managing grants under a USAID-funded program.
Extensive knowledge of grant processes including accounting and financial reporting.
Proficient in the use of financial management software to include spreadsheets and/or databases, required.
Demonstrated ability to interpret complex grant funding requirements, submissions, and budget projections;
Ability to interpret federal, state, and local government laws and regulations regarding grant administration;
Ability to review the work of others to ensure conformance to standards; ability to communicate effectively across a broad spectrum of staff, both orally and in writing required.
Previous experience in managing and building grants management capacity across a range of small and larger organizations.
Experience managing and building the capacity of a small grants team.
Demonstrated strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
Fluent in oral and written English and excellent writing skills
Ability to work in a challenging environment, under high pressure and ability to cope with tight deadlines,
Possess a high standard of personal and professional integrity
Willingness to work as a team member, taking on additional tasks as needed to ensure the overall success of the project
Keen attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
