Job Title:     Adolescent HIV Services Officer
Employer: Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI)
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Duties:
Lead mentorship and training efforts to build capacity of facility teams to deliver high quality Pediatric and Adolescent HIV/AIDS care services.
Provide clinical care to Pediatric and Adolescent HIV/AIDS patients attending IDI-supported health facilities in line with standard care and treatment guidelines.
Coordinate appropriate referral and management of complex Pediatric and Adolescent HIV/AIDS patients through liaison with senior care specialists and tertiary treatment centers.
Guide performance monitoring initiatives and routine data use activities at IDI-supported health facilities to guide implementation of project activities related to Pediatric and Adolescent HIV/AIDS care.
Assist the health workers to identify, implement and document continuous quality improvement activities along Pediatric and Adolescent client care and treatment cascades.
Coordinate and support facility and community efforts to improve linkage and retention in care among Pediatric and Adolescent clients living with HIV.
Provide input in development of project work plans and budgets and in their implementation.
Support health facilities to compile and submit accurate HMIS and programmatic reports according to project, donor and Ministry of Health timelines.
Perform any other duties as may reasonably be assigned from time to time

Education:
The ideal candidate for the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) Adolescent HIV Services Officer job opportunity should preferably hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Degree
Full and active registration with the UMDPC
Additional training in HIV/AIDS care and opportunistic infections
Up-to-date technical knowledge of Pediatric and Adolescent HIV/AIDS care and ART
Excellent communication, leadership, organization and management skills
Broad knowledge and understanding of client confidentiality and exhibits high level of ethical conduct
Basic computer literacy including word processing, excel, internet and power point
Good understanding of public health systems and local government policies.
