Job Title:           Head of Health and Nutrition
Employer: Save the Children International
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Education: The ideal candidate for the Save the Children Head of Health and Nutrition career opportunity should hold a Post-graduate degree in Public Health; Pediatrics; or a related field with additional training or long term experience in Health and nutrition  planning and management and use of project planning and management techniques

Experience: At least eight years’ experience in developing and managing high quality, innovative and cost-effective technical maternal and child health  projects including in fragile and insecure environments, preferably in Uganda context and with International NGOs

Job Requirements
•Broad knowledge of current global and regional debates on universal coverage and quality of maternal, child health and nutrition policies and models; global targets and evidence based strategies for achieving maternal, newborn and child health
•         Prior experience working with Uganda’s public health system is preferred. Prior experience of working with USAID funded projects is of added advantage.
•         Proven experience and skills in research and advocacy and influencing institutional, private and/or corporate donors and writing up high quality donor health related reports
•         Demonstrable financial, planning and budget management skills a MUST. Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
