Job Title: Project Accountant
Employer: Justice and Advocacy for Women and Children Uganda (JAWCU)
Location: Uganda
Duties:
Preparing the annual budgets according to the organization programs and work plan.
Taking care of finances of the organization, paying bills and salaries of employees, vendors, solutions to business and all financial issues.
Preparing profit and loss statements, analyzing revenue and expenditure and manual filling systems.
Updating and maintaining records of accounts using computer software programs and manual filing systems.
Tasked with monitoring reports with accuracy and detail and submitting timely monthly, quarterly and year end close reports as per the deadline and in accordance with the organization Finance and accounting procedure manual.
In charge of coordinating with the internal and external auditors during audits and preparing for financial audit
Education:
The ideal candidate for the DREAMS Project Accountant job placement should preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration
At least level III of the professional Certified Accountancy examinations.
Computer literacy i.e. proficient in Excel and QuickBooks with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Power Point.
The position requires a person who is mature and able to command respect, with a firm personality.
The incumbent must be result-oriented and self-driven; trust worthy and capable of working extra hours to meet deadlines whenever need arises.
The candidate should be a good communicator, a team player and computer literate.
