Job Title:        Assistant Procurement Officer
Employer: Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI)
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Duties:
The jobholder will be preparing and issuing Request for quotations to vendors
Coordinating the evaluation of bids and make appropriate recommendations to the procurement committee where applicable
Work closely with stores staff, verify the delivered items for completeness of requested quantities and compliance with quality and quantity specifications.
Ensure safe custody and systematic filing of purchase orders, agreements and all relevant records.
Prepare Purchase orders for recommended suppliers/providers.
Work in close liaison with the finance team, follow up vendor invoices to ensure timely payment.
Maintain and keep track of all framework and long term agreements.
Performs any other assignments as may be allocated by the supervisor.

Education:
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a University degree in Procurement & Supply chain management, Business Administration or any related field from a recognized institution.

Experience
At least two years’ experience in procurement and supply chain management in a busy reputable organization
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a busy environment
Computer skills in MS office and Navision ERP
